What is your biggest regret?

"When I was twenty, I and my friend were offered to go to Kathmandu to join the security forces of the then King. We were to go to Kathmandu and walk around the royal family. Sometimes as guards in ceremonies, and sometimes as gatekeepers. My son was born at that time, so I could not leave. But my friend did. He returned to the village only once to settle things. I hear he is a very rich man today. I hear he owns several houses and cars. If I had gone, maybe things might have been different for me too."

Valentine's Day of Barack and Michelle Obama

Whatever your relationship status this Valentine's Day, Barack Obama's message to Michelle is guaranteed to make your heart swell.

"Happy Valentine's Day, !" Obama wrote. "Almost 28 years with you, but it always feels new."
Now and forever, #RelationshipGoals. Barack and Michelle have been enjoying a super-chill vacation in the British Virgin Islands since leaving the White House, and are now settling into their new home in Washington, D.C.
Shortly after, the former First Lady dedicated a post back to her husband with an adorable photo from vacation, with their toes in the sand.
"Happy Valentine's Day to the love of my life and favorite island mate, @BarackObama. #valentines," she wrote.

5 best Android apps for power users

Android phones come with a lot of handy apps out of the box, but that’s just the start. With the right apps you can may your phone faster and better. You can also start making changes to customize the device to your liking and really get into the nutty gritty of customizing. For that, you’ll need the right apps. Here are 5 essential apps for the Android power user to get you started.

 System Monitor
This app has live graphs of CPU activity, storage, network activity, and battery usage. It even has floating monitors and widgets to keep an eye on things. There's a free trial and a full version that $3.99.

 Tasker
This app has a steep learning curve, but you can automate actions like placing calls, changing system settings, modifying files, and more than 200 more. These can be triggered based on time, location, charge state, and dozens of other things. The learning curve is steep, but Tasker is incredibly powerful. It'll cost you $2.99.

Unclouded
There are numerous cloud storage providers, and you may very well have files in more than one.
Unclouded offers a way to easily manage all of them in a single app. It supports Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive, BOX, and MEGA. Just log into your accounts and all your files are accessible. It's free to try and costs $3.29 to unlock permanently.

 Root Explorer
Tinkering with Android means you'll need a good file explorer, and there isn't a more powerful one than Root Explorer. As the name implies, it has specific features for rooted users, but you can use it as a regular user-space file explorer if you're not running a rooted device. It costs $3.99, but it's a worthwhile investment.

Nova Launcher
The stock home screen on your Android device is probably fine, but it's guaranteed to be lacking in features. The most powerful home screen replacement for Android is Nova Launcher. It has gestures, custom icons, better control over the grid layout, and much more. You can test it for free, but all the features require a $4.99 upgrade.

Wi-Fi authentication problem

The Android Wi-Fi authentication problem manifests when you unsuccessfully try to connect to a Wi-Fi network with the correct password. Rather than connecting and saving the password as would be the norm, the device delivers a notification beneath the network label saying that it’s authenticating. However, after a short wait, you see an ‘authentication problem’ or ‘authentication error’ notice.

How to fix the issue

I have two solutions to fix this issue. Either of these fixes will work in most situations but not always.
Solution 1
  • Navigate to the Settings app on your phone then seek out Wi-Fi under Network connections.
  • Under Wi-Fi Networks, find the network that you want to connect to and long press on its name or SSID. You’ll get a pop-up menu with two options: forget network and modify network config.
  • Select the forget network option.
  • Put some distance in between yourself and the Wi-Fi router until you are only getting one signal bar. Try to reconnect the same network and re-enter the password. If everything goes as it should be, you will be able to authenticate and connect to your network. If not, move on to Solution 2 below.
Solution 2
In case the above solution didn’t work and your device still isn’t able to connect, try the following.
  • Navigate to the Settings app and choose Wi-Fi as above.
  • Long press or hold the network that you want to access and then choose the modify network config in the pop-up menu that appears. In some devices, this option will be named as modify network connection.
  • Check the box next to show advanced options and then seek out IP settings. Change from DHCP to Static. An IP Address field will appear below.
  • Note down the information included in the static IP address field then delete it, re-enter it again, and save.
Hopefully, this should get everything sorted out so that you’re able to access Wi-Fi and the internet without any problems. If none of these options work, be sure to mention that in the comments section below, accompanied with your device model.

Valentines Day

On 14 February, Nepalis celebrate an imported festival by gifting to their beloveds roses imported from India. This year, Flower Association of Nepal (FAN) has estimated that 200,000 rose pieces worth Rs 5 million will be imported from as far away as Bangalore and Pune. An additional 100,000 rose pieces will be sourced from within Nepal.
“We do not have the technology to grow roses in winter, so we need to depend on India,” explains Kumar Kasaju of FAN. Kasaju may not like us saying so, but you lovebirds out there may want to rethink V-Day roses since they don’t last long, are wrapped in plastic and widen our trade deficit with India. Consider the carbon footprint of blossoms that have journeyed from so far away, and we are not even going to remind you of the agrochemicals used for floriculture.
And we haven’t even told you about the Methyl Bromide used in ornamental flower cultivation, which destroys the protective ozone layer in the stratosphere that blocks harmful solar UV radiation.
Next Tuesday, instead of splurging on a cliché show your loved one they’re special with these alternatives:
  • Donate to a charity helping Earthquake survivors
  • Invest in a child’s future and support youth earning their education
  • Give to those who cannot ask, care for local dogs
  • Send a handmade card made from locally-sourced Lokta paper
  • Gift your sweetheart an industrial-strength anti-pollution mask
